Animation movie Bow Bow, directed by ten-year-old Jishnu B., has won the second best film award at the Short Film Competition 2008 organised by Sumangala Film Society in association with the Federation of Film Society of India (FFSI) and Kerala State Chalachitra Academy (KSCA).
Bow Bow has a sparrow and a dog as its lead characters. The two-minute animation movie was made at Vismayas Max, run by actor Mohanlal, with the support of its animation experts.
Interestingly, Jishnu’s was the only entry by a child in the competition which was held in three segments -- animation, short film and documentary. This student of Christ Nagar HSS in Thiruvananthapuram has recently won the Prince of Painting award instituted by the Raja Ravi Varma Smaraka Kendram, Kilimanoor palace. The boy is to come up with another movie, for which he would soon find a theme, he said.
