Unlike many other Malayalee actresses, Navya Nair, who stepped to Tamil film with Azhagiya Theeyee after tasting huge success in Malayalam films, has not yet taken the glamour route to attain stardom in Kollywood. She has a specific reason for it. "It is because of my demure, girl-next-door image; audiences will not accept me in glamour roles," she said.
"The audiences have a certain perspective of every heroine and one should not go against it. I have always stuck to my on-screen image and I have no complaints as I have got some meaty roles coming my way," the young actress added.
At the moment, Navya Nair has completed Raman Thediya Seethai in which she plays the role of a policewoman. She is also doing Suresh Joachim’s untitled film being made to break the Guinness record for quickest film and has signed Cheran’s Autograph 2. Navya will play a village girl opposite Jai in Aval Paer Tamilarasi, to be directed by Meera Kathiravan and produced by Moser Baer.
