Leading Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan married Nischal Chandran, a computer engineer working in National Bank of Kuwait as Technical adviser, on February 5 at Sree Mookambika Temple, Kollur between 10.20 and 10.50 a.m. Nischal arrived at the temple with his parents, followed by Kavya along with her father Madhavan and mother Syamala.

Only around 100 people, comprising close relatives and friends, had been invited for the ceremony. A 'Ganapathy Homam' was also done to appease Lord Vigneshwara. Kavya looked simple yet elegant in her golden bridal trousseau with traditional jewellery to go with it. After the ceremony, the couple also found time to flash smiles to the media waiting outside, but refused to reply to queries.

On February 9, there will be a wedding reception at Le Meridian, Kochi for her filmi friends. Kavya will hold yet another reception for her relatives at her native place Neeleswaram, Kasargod, on February 12.

It is widely gossiped that Kavya and Nischal met last year, fell in love and decided to become life partners, but Kavya denied all these rumours. Kavya has already stopped accepting fresh offers and is currently waiting for the release of her two films: Mammootty starrer Pattanathil Bhootham and Nemom Pushpara's offbeat love story Banaras, opposite Vineeth. She was the original choice for the role of Savitri Antarjanam in the ongoing multi-starrer Yugapurushan, but she rejected it. The role later has now gone to Navya Nair.
