Prolific Malayalam director and screenwriter Lohithadas (54), well-known for his deep and realistic depiction of characters in Bhoothakannadi (1997), Thaniyavarthanam (1987), Kasthooriman (1997), Kireedom (1990), Bharatham (1991), Sallapam (1995), Thoovalkottaram (1996) and Nivedyam (2007), passed away on Sunday morning at 10:50 a.m. in Lisy Hospital Eranakulam. Hospital sources said that the director was admitted to the hospital early in this morning after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
