The Malayalam Cine Technicians' Association (MACTA) has formed a committee on Sunday to resolve the Dileep-Thulasidas issue that witnessed some heated discussions in Mollywood recently. Balu Kiryeethum, a member of the new committee, said the panel will look at all aspects to create an amicable solution.
Meanwhile, MACTA denied reports that 25 top directors have resigned from the Federation, following which MACTA General Secretary, Vinayan, is alleged to have used 'derogatory' words against film directors in general during the recent meeting on Wednesday last week.
However, committee member Ambili said they have received resignations from six members (Joshi, Sathyan Anthikkad, Blessy, Jose Thomas, Raju Babu and Shaji Kailas) so far. It is an exaggeration that 25 directors have submitted resignations to the Federation, he added.
It is heard that Dileep's next film Bodyguard with Siddique, being produced by Johnny Sagarika, will be delayed due to a ban enforced by the Malayalam Cine Technicians' Association. Director Vinayan, General Secretary of MACTA, has already asked members not to cooperate with Dileep films.
The whole issue cropped up when Dileep, who was to act in a film being directed by Thulasidas, refused to play his role after taking payment of Rs. 40 lakhs, allegedly because Thusalasidas's last film was a flop.
