The general council meet of MACTA passed a resolution against actor Sreenivasan for his adverse remarks against assistant directors during the last committee meeting of the association. The federation demanded an apology from actor Sreenivasan for his alleged comment that assistant directors "lacked creativity".
Meanwhile, Sreenivasan dismissed the demand as "foolish", stating that he had not made any statement about assistant directors lacking in creativity. "There can not be no question of apologizing for what I had not said", Sreenivasan added.
The new crisis started in the meeting called to discuss the Dileep-Thulasidas issue. Senior director Siddhique walked out from the meeting when general secretary Vinayan made some personal bad comments in the meeting, humiliating all directors of the industry.
Several directors have resigned already, pointing out that they are unhappy with the disparaging statements by the general secretary. However, the council has announced its support to Vinayan.
