M.G. Sasi, who won the State Award for the best director last year, is planning to make another film. This time, he has decided to base his film on 'Rithubhedangalude Parithoshikam', the famous short story by Padmarajan.
Sasi’s debut film, Adayalangal, has bagged five major awards in this year’s Kerala State Film Awards. Earlier, Sasi had worked with directors like T.V. Chandran, P.T. Kunju Mohammed, Jayaraj and Shyamaprasad as assistant director.
Adayalangal narrates a 'valluvanadan' story of poverty, misery and above all, of determination. The film, featuring Jyothirmayi and new face Govinda Padmasurya in the lead roles, is about an innocent 16-year-old boy who joins the army and becomes a man. After returning from the army, he becomes a writer and calls himself Nandanar. The movie also casts T.G. Ravi, V.K Sriraman, Manikandan; director T.V. Chandran makes his debut as actor. The director, who was hospitalized after suffering a severe back sprain, is now taking rest at his home in Pattambi.
