For the Malayalees who are crazy about Kollywood glamour queen Namitha, here is good news! The sensational beauty is all set to make her entry as heroine in a Malayalam film to be directed by the famous duo of Pramod-Pappan.
The directors are now busy with Rahman starrer Musafir with Bala and Mamtha in other lead roles. Shooting of their film with Namitha in the lead will begin after Musafir which is expected to hit theatres by the end of this month.
Namitha, one of the busiest actresses in South India, has reportedly hiked her rate recently from Rs. 40 lakhs to Rs. 75 lakhs. It is learnt that her call sheet diary is full for the next two years. She accepted the role in Kartheegai for a whopping Rs. 75 lakhs.
The question here is whether Mollywood film-makers can afford to have this expensive glamour doll in Malayalam! But it is a known fact that film-makers generally feel that Namitha's glamour makes their film a minimum guaranteed product and particularly in C centres where it becomes a hot cake.
Namitha is currently working in nearly 8 projects, including Kartheegai, Jaganmohini, Perumal and Indira Vizha. She is the central character in Jaganmohini, a remake of a yester-year Tamil-Telugu blockbuster with the same name, under N.K. Viswanathan's direction. She has also been acting opposite Sundar C. in Perumal. Namitha is the main heroine in Indira Vizha, has already been labeled as a 'Namitha special'.
Meanwhile, reports say that Namitha is going to have a temple dedicated to her in Sandalwood land. If the reports are to be believed, Namitha would be the second heroine to have a temple in South India, the first being yesteryear sensation Khushbu.
