As June is slowly getting to an end, four movies are gearing up for release this weekend. Prithviraj’s Thalappavu, which was waiting in the cans for more than two years, will finally see the light of day. The film, based on the life and death of Varghese, a Naxalite who was killed by the police in a shootout in the Vayanadu jungles, is directed by actor Madhupal.
Veruthe Oru Bharya, featuring Jayaram and Gopika in the lead, will be released on 27th June. Jayaram, who did not have a hit for a while, is eagerly looking forward to this movie’s release. One of the last films of Gopika to be released before her wedding in July, the film is expected to be a hit among the family audience.
Two other movies also expected to release this month are Jayaraj’s Gulmohar featuring director Ranjith in the lead and Suresh Gopi’s much-awaited Laptop, which had a release date in July and is reportedly rescheduling its release to an earlier date so as not to clash with the big movies releasing in July.
July, termed as the big month, will see the release of Mohanlal’s Maadambi, Mammootty’s Parunthu and Minnaminnikoottam which features a group of young stars, including Narain, Jayasurya, Indrajith, Meera Jasmine, Samvrutha and Roma.
