Director Padmakumar is happy with the way Parunthu has turned out. Speaking at a press conference in Kozhikode, he said that Mammootty had given him full creative freedom in creating the character of ‘Parunthu’ Purushothaman, who is negative to the core.
About the minor clash between Maadambi and Parunthu, Padmakumar said that he did not make Parunthu as an answer to Maadambi. Apparently, Maadambi has some dialogues with barbed references to Parunthu. Padmakumar said that despite the pressure from fans to retaliate to Madambi in the same way, he refrained.
“Moreover, I am pretty happy with the film that was created entirely from my creative point of view. The movie brought in more than a crore to its producers in the opening week,” he said happily.
Padmakumar’s next film will also feature Mammootty in the lead. Shooting will start early next year and it will be scripted by Renjith.
