The shooting of Parunthu, which was earlier expected to begin in April, will start from 10th May in Kozhikkode. After the recent super hit Anann Thampi, Mammootty, who was busy with shooting in small schedules for Twenty:20, Pazhassi Raja and Vande Mataram, will join the sets next week.
The film, scripted by T.A. Razak, tells the story of Gillette Purushothaman, a crude money lender with an iron heart for collecting his money by any means from his borrowers. Glamour-conscious tall siren Navneet Kaur, Lakhsmi Rai and Roma will be the female leads. Parunthu will also feature Jayasuriya and Kalabhavan Mani in important roles.
The flick, produced by Howly Pottur under the banner of Dream Team Productions, is directed by M. Padmakumar. The pooja and recording of Parunthu was held last week at White Fort, Kochi. The makers are planning to get Parunthu into theatres by 4th July.
