Parvathy, who is debuting in Poo opposite Srikanth, is quite committed to her role. This beauty from God’s own country, all of three films (Notebook, Flash and Vinodayatra) old in Malayalam, has also appeared opposite Puneeth Rajkumar in Milana (Kannada). It was a hit, giving Parvathy a good chance at Kollywood, which she has happily accepted.
At a recent interview, she is quoted to have said, “I want to give 100% to the character I play in Poo.” This attitude was demonstrated when director Sasi wanted her to dub in her own voice for her very first Tamil movie. It was definitely not easy, as she had to get the Madurai slang exactly right. Insiders say that Parvathy’s performance is mind-blowing and will be worth the wait.
Director Sasi is the director of Sollamale, Rojakoottam and Dishyum.
Poo, produced by Moser Baer, is an off-beat story in a rural setting and it stars debutants all around, from technicians and music director to the supporting artistes.
