Popular Tamil-Telugu actor Pasupathi, who is flying high after his striking performances in the recent Raman Thediya Seethai, Kuselan, Vediugundu Murugesan and TN 07 AL 4777, is cast in Vairam (his first Malayalam film) directed by M.A. Nishad of Pakal (2006) and Nagaram (2007) fame.

Apart from Pasupathi, Vairam has four prominent Malayalam heroes and three heroines playing the lead roles: Suresh Gopi, Mukesh, Jaya Suriya, Kalabhavan Mani, Bhama, Samvritha Sunil and Meera Vasudev.

Also in the cast are Thilakan, Jagathy, Sai Kumar, K.P.A.C. Lalitha, Rekha and others. Produced by N. Siva Rao under the banner of NASR India, the film is penned by the director himself.

Dialogues and screenplay are by Cherian Kalpakavady. Sanjeev Sankar wields the camera. M. Jayachandran has scored music for lyrics written by Gireesh Puthenchery. Shooting will begin from April 15 at Theni, Ernakulam and Thodupuzha.
