Prakashraj, a very famous actor-producer in South India who has enacted a wide variety of roles, most notably as a villain (the highest-paid villain in the history of Indian cinema) and as a character artiste, is considered to be one of the most natural actors in the film industry. He has agreed to appear in an important role in the new Mammootty film Mayabazar.
Prakashraj had worked with Mammootty years ago in the film Indraprastham, when Prakashraj had not quite become a well-known star. Mayabazar will bring them back together. It is assumed that Prakashraj will play a negative role. It is the fifth Malayalam film by Prakashraj, whose earlier films were Indraprastham (1996), The Prince (1996), Oru Yathramozhi (1999) and Pandipada (2006). Incidentally, Indraprastham was also Simran's first Malayalam film.
Mayabazar will be directed by debutante Thomas Sebastian, a long-time associate of directors like Sibi Malayail, Blessy and Sundardas. Govindh Vijayan, a known writer in Malayalam, is signed as the script writer for Mayabazar. The film will have two heroines, Meera Vasudevan and a newcomer.
To be produced by Sachi S. Mangalam under the banner of Aakhil Films, shooting of the film is expected to begin after November. Mammootty will until then be busy with his M. Padhmakumar film Parundhu and Johnny Anthony's Pattanathil Bhootam.
