Just a few days ago, director Roshan Andrews' Mohanlal starrer Casanova was dropped as its original producers, the Confident Group of companies lost confidence and withdrew from the project due to the lacklustre performance of Mohanlal’s latest Sagar alias Jackie - Reloaded. Now the latest is that to make best use of the dates given by the superstar, Roshan Andrews will soon direct Mohanlal in an untitled film scripted by James Albert.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, the film will start shooting in June after Mohanlal completes Kamal Haasan's Unnai Pol Oruvan, a remake of the critically-acclaimed Hindi film A Wednesday.
Roshan Andrews and James Albert are currently in a hurry to finish the paperwork of the film, which will have Mohanlal playing the role of Mathachan, a middle-aged farmer. The cast, crew and other details will be announced soon.
The latest buzz about Casanova is that the Confident Group of Companies would no longer be producing the film. The project is said to be financially infeasible, considing Mohanlal's present box-office ratings. Casanova was to begin shooting in Vienna from the second week of April.
However, some sources indicate that Casanova has only been postponed on account of the delay in visa formalities. It is also heard that Casanova would be shot in Dubai, instead of Austria.
