Popular musician Sharrat will inaugurate a three-day long Sri Swati Tirunal Sangeethotsavam 2009, being organised by Swati Music Dais, at Jaya Auditorium, Kozhikode on Friday. Swati Music Dais president T.M. Sarvothaman Nedungadi will preside.
The inaugural session will be followed by a concert by Sharrat. He will be accompanied on mridangam by P.V. Anil Kumar and on violin by N Sampath. Tumkur Shashishankar from Mysore will be on the ghatam.
A violin duet by Mysore M. Nagaraj and Mysore M. Manjunath will be the highlight on the second day. There will be music competitions based on Swati Tirunal compositions in the morning for singers in 16 to 25 age group on the last day.
After the valedictory session, there will be a vocal concert by Sreyas Narayanun of Chennai. The concert will also feature S.R. Vinu of Thiruvananthapuram (violin), Mysore S. Sudarsan (mridangam) and Vyasa Vittal from Bangalore (ganchira).
