The latest buzz about the biopic on notorious sandalwood smuggler Veerappan’s life history, to be produced by Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, is that Muthulakshmi, wife of Veerappan, will have a role in the film. It is also widely rumoured that Muthulakshmi is considering for playing the role of Veerapan's wife.
Muthulakshmi has openly declared that if anybody comes forward to film the story of her husband, she is ready to act in it without charging any fee. Meanwhile, Muthulaxmi is said to have met Ram Gopal Varma and his team to discuss the film’s storyline and given them valuable inputs for the movie.
The film will be directed by Prashant Pandey. Varma is presently busy with the post-production of his next releases Contract and Phoonk scheduled for release in July and August respectively.
The filmmaker is planning to cast newcomers for this project. Shooting will begin in August 2008. The film will chronicle Veerappan’s youth, his entry into smuggling, his rise as a dacoit, his love life, and finally his death at the hands of a special team of police.
