Noted film director T.V. Chandran has come up with another movie, which, like his earlier films, deals with sensitive issues. The film, named Vilaapangalkkappuram, is inspired from the Godhra riots following a train being set ablaze in Gujarat by religious fundamentalists. The film deals with the plight of the womenfolk in the area just after the riots break out.
Veyyil fame Priyanka plays the character of Sahira who is forced to leave Gujarat after losing her parents and only sister on the riots. The film is made for serious filmgoers and the previews have generated good comments.
The story is by Aryadan Showkath and the cast includes Suhasini, Biju Menon, Sudheesh, Sreeraman and Thilakan. Vilaapangalkkapuram is expected to release by the end of July or by early August.
