Noted scenarist-director-actor Ranjith (also spelt Renjith) is all set to experiment with a new project titled Yathra (Journey), a Malayalam film comprising ten short films made by ten directors.

In a press meet at Kochi, Director Ranjith said that travel will be the central theme of all these short films, which will all have some connection to each other.

"The directors can make short films with their own story, script and cast according to their ideas.  But it should have connection with the main theme (journey) to keep the continuity of the film. I want to give something new to our audiences who are thirsting for a change," he said.

The 10 directors are Lal Jose, Shaji Kailas, Anwar Rasheed, B. Unnikrishnan, M. Padmakumar, Shyama Prasad, Revathi, Anjali Menon, Uday Ananthan and Shankar Ramakrishnan.

Lal Jose and B. Unnikrishnan also attended the press meet. Ranjith is producing the film under his banner of Capital Theatres.
