Veteran actor, director and screenwriter Balachandra Menon is now working on his new directional venture titled De! Ignottunokkiye. A.V. Anoop produces the movie, which was launched recently. The actor is taking up direction after a hiatus of about five years.
His last movie, Krishna Gopalkrishna, directed and written by him, did not do well at box office. As an actor, he was last seen in Paranayakalam. He received the National Award for best actor for his performance in his movie, Samantharangal, in 1998, Kerala State award for best writer for his film, Uthrada Rathri (1978) and a Special Jury award in 1997. Some of his directional ventures include Sukham Sukhakaram, April 18, Achuvettante Veedu, Chiriyo Chiri and Vivahithare Ithihile.
