Prithiviraj loses, Bhagyaraj wins

Prithiviraj’s first Tamil film as hero is Parijatham directed by Bhagyaraj. It is also the launch vehicle of the director’s daughter Saranya. After the film was completed, the distributor Oscar Ravichandran expressed his inability to release the film due to a ban imposed on him by Tamil film producers’ council. Bhagyaraj struck a deal with Sun TV and sold the rights. He joined DMK and started campaigning for the party. Sun TV also has given him a weekly slot. Soon the film will be premiered on Sun TV. Bhagyaraj won the battle while Prithiviraj’s debut film as hero lost out.
